Cat C9 3 Engine Problems
I dont know about the c93 but the c9 was the most expensive auxiliary engine my fleet ever operated.
Cat c9 3 engine problems. The cat spec for fuel pressure on this generation of c9 is 55 at idle 75 psi at full load. Engine has 27xx hrs on it couple different times in past month have started it after setting for few days and itll be missing on one cylinder for maybe 30 sec then clear up and run great. This low fuel pressure also triggered the low turbo boost fault code to be logged. I hate to hear that.
But that doesnt mean that your engine doesnt have one. I would ask mustang if that can be done for you. This low fuel pressure was one of the causes for the check engine light to illuminate and for the engine derationsloss of power. Ill try to keep this short but explain all i can.
To my knowledge there is not a known piston ring problem on c9 engines. It sounds to me like your engine has a problem drinking oil. Have a lexion 575r with c9 cat and heui fuel system. If the hill is long enough the check engine light and the engine warning light comes on.
